The Gift of Empathetic Listening…
I believe this is one of the most important things we can do with the people we live and work with. I have also found it to be quite challenging, especially in our work of parenting, teaching, supporting, and care giving.
What is empathy, and how can we use it to really listen to each other? What is the difference between empathy and sympathy or pity? As I think about this important skill, I remember how much it means to me to be truly listened too. I must also constantly remind myself what it takes to be an empathetic listener.
